Author Spotlight: Steven Nicolle, an adventurer, nomad, bartending master
Steven Nicolle, author of “How I Took A Bartending Course And Traveled For Seventeen Years,” took a bartending course in the city of Montréal, Canada. From then on, he found a rich career in hospitality despite the political tension in that Canada metropolis that was always on the verge of isolating itself the rest of the country.
An adventurer by heart and a nomad by soul, Nicolle finds bartending a rewarding vocation, albeit demanding. But it is in this field where he would later thrive and excel.
Earlier in his career, Nicolle would mix drinks, observe human behavior, and study the art of taste and presentation. This path led him to what he describes as “unimagined vistas.” Later, he refined his bartending skills as he traveled across Canada and then crossed the seas to explore other territories including the United States, Europe, Asia, the Caribean, and the Mediterranean.
Having tasted both the bitter and the sweet along the way, Nicolle has grown into a highly skilled Sommelier and Maitre’d, leaving a good impression for himself wherever he brought his cocktail shaker and strainer with him. Some of the people he served include celebrities, well-off travelers, and Prince Philip of Switzerland. However, his adventures never really quite fulfilled his heart’s true calling.
Later in his quest to evolve in his chosen career, Nicolle decided to begin imparting his knowledge on hospitality through teaching, blogging, and serving others. He also appeared in the CBC documentary Doc Zone, which revealed his genuine approach to an ideal service.
His memoir, published by Author Reputation Press, demonstrates his eagerness for authentic communication with the people he speaks with. Nicolle also enjoys going on a trip with his family and writing about anecdotes and views on the hospitality industry. His book is available to purchase via ARPRess‘ online bookstore, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
