Mahlon Palmer makes a guesting at This Week In America with Ric Bratton

Mahlon Palmer, author of the memoir Destiny, has appeared in a radio interview with Ric Bratton for This Week In America, a nationally syndicated radio program in the U.S. and carried over more than 100 stations.

Mahlon shares his inspiration for writing his memoir. According to the author, it was many years ago when he was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a heart attack one hot morning. He recalls lying in the hospital bed for many days while telling stories to his visitors.

After recovering, one of Mahlon’s visitors asked if he could write a book since he won’t be heard anymore telling stories once he returned home. He also revealed that the title for his book was made out of sheer desperation since he could not think of another title, seeing as he had no prior experience writing a book, let alone creating a title for one.

Ric’s interested was also piqued by the book’s cover showing Mahlon and his dog, and so the author obliged to explain the idea behind it. In general, the book recounts the poverty that the Palmer had gone through during the Great Depression at the same time when Mahlon was born.

These and more interesting details about Destiny have been discussed in the interview, available for listening below:
