Author Spotlight: Mollie Bach, author of “Paradise Lost”
Mollie Bach, a mental health expert and author, has extensively written about the hazards of alcohol abuse in her book, Paradise Lost, published by Author Reputation Press.
Mollie’s understanding of the dangers of alcoholism goes deep on a personal level, having witnessed how it greatly ravaged her both deceased parents and husband.
Mollie was raised in West London. When she was eight years old, her father — a property developer — committed suicide after going bankrupt. He was an actor prior to entering the property development business.
Mollie was, afterward, sent to a boarding school. However, the horrors of a parent’s death struck her afresh after her mother ended her own life when Mollie was 12 years old. She was driven to depression and heavy drinking after her husband’s death.
When she was married, the same tragedy resurfaced as Mollie’s alcoholic husband died later. Mollie considers herself fortunate, nevertheless, with her wonderful daughters and friends.
Mollie is affiliated with the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing at the University of London. She is also connected with Maudsley Hospital.
She earned her Diploma in Mental Health and B.A.(open) Moral Philosophy from the University of London. Mollie also received a certificate in the Philosophy of the Body from the University of London, Lampeter.
Paradise Lost is Mollie’s way of addressing the damages of alcohol addiction on families. Both gripping and poignant, the book sheds light on the struggles facing family members and the despair they would feel over loved ones addicted to alcohol.
