Michael Kravitz’s “Boston Flickers” is a captivating story about family conflict and romance

Trilogy books are fun to read, albeit sometimes leaving you wanting for more once you’ve finished the first or second installment. At Author Reputation Press, some authors have chosen to publish a series of books with inter-connected stories such as Michael Kravitz’s works, the latest of which is Boston Flickers.

The book is a sequel to Michael’s first novel, Boston Darkens. Like the first book, the latest installment has a fast-paced narrative and captivating plot that will keep you holding your breath till the end.

Boston Flickers follows the story of Jessica who makes every desperate move just to be with her boyfriend, Joshua, against her father’s advice. Having nothing else to live for, she takes on a dangerous journey and drives through the lawless streets onboard a bicycle alone. Eventually, she couldn’t put up with exhaustion and soon finds herself lying on the sidewalk.

What follows next is a fight for survival and dear life after an EMP blast has littered most roads in the eastern U.S., stalling all human activities and suspending all government operations. Ben Randall had formed a survival collaborative with his neighbors. They had to venture out for food, water and medicines while trying to avoid local gangs of thugs.

At the end portions of the book, Jessica and Joshua’s encounter leads to a journey through danger, survival and love, inflicting family wounds and eventually pushing the two lovers to leave for “tent city”.
