Author Spotlight: Ray Bumgardner, author of “Gospels One”

Ray Bumgardner, author of Gospels One, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he also earned his grammar and high school education.

His book attempts to reconcile the factions among different religious sects and heal the fractures caused by opposing views. Ray successfully does this by showing the way to a summation that unites a Christianity facing the final revelations promised by its savior.

Its claims are backed by Apocrypha and the work of Roman historian Flavius Josephus on the Judean history spanning four hundred years, though this is not recorded in the Bible except in the Catholic versions. That time in history is marked by chaos, and using the four gospels written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew, the author portrays a realistic picture of that period. The result is a detailed account of the life of Jesus from a historical standpoint.

Bumgardner served in the army and spent some time in Ledo and Chabua, Assam Province in India during the World War II. He was married to Mary Elizabeth “Buff” Justice for nearly 59 years before her death. Ray currently lives with his two dogs. He also has a son and a daughter who resides in North Carolina. In addition, he has a grown-up granddaughter.
