Author Spotlight: Siegfried Wyner, author of “The Life of a European-American Ingrained in New York”

Siegfried Wyner

Siegfried Wyner, author of The Life of a European-American Ingrained in New York, was born in Iassy, Romania on October 22,1955.

His book has been inspired by his experience moving to a new country and the challenges associated with the transition. Wyner had to summon a great deal of courage and determination in order to adapt to the changes in his environment. For Wyner, moving to a new country will force you to learn a new language and adapt to a different culture. In other words, it will drive you out of your comfort zone.

The book follows the author’s journey from Romania to New York City. Wyner lived most of his early life In Romania before he migrated to New York on January 21, 1976 with his family. Having grown up in Romania, he had a hard time assimilating to American culture at first. Notwithstanding, he managed to get into the Polytechnic Institute of New York to study Civil Engineering.

He graduated with a Bachelor in Science degree in Civil Engineering on June 4, 1981 and also graduated with a Master in Science in Civil Engineer in June 3, 1982. Wyner became an American citizen in 1981.
