Saraswati Raman’s “Sahaja Yoga: An Experiential Treatise” praised for its fresh perspectives on the world
Sahaja Yoga: An Experiential Treatise by Saraswati Raman has received another critical acclaim from a major book review outlet for its fresh perspective on the world. The book has been reviewed by Rae C. Bernard from Hollywood Book Reviews (HBR).
The book was originally written in Marathi by VN Phadke at the request of Shri Mataji Nimolo Devi. The book is based on the author’s own experiments with application of Sahaja Yoga for treatment of various ailments, to find intuitively solutions to some common problems faced by man and also to find the truth as to certain beliefs of his community for which the encouragement came from Shri Mataji Nimala Devi herself.
In 1970, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, known to her followers as Mataji and as the incarnation of the Shaktism Supreme Being Adi Shakti, founded the Sahaja Yoga movement. Its goal was to spread the practice of Self-Realization by awakening the Kundalini in an ordinary human and free a person from the claws of disillusionment.
This rare experience has been personally taken into account by Phadke in Sahaja Yoga. Bernard remarks of the book:
I read this book with an open mind and was able to learn so much. I like that Phadke used the Sahaja Yoga techniques to help others, it proves just what type of person he was. There were instances where I was hoping the use of vibrations wouldn’t harm him, but then I looked at it as transactional. He would strip away one’s aliments, take them as his own to heal them, then turn around and use a technique to clear away any negative vibrations from his body, making him healthy again. I consider him to have a very sacrificial attitude on fulfilling such tasks as that.
I highly recommend this book for everyone to consider reading. Some interesting takeaways encourage you to create new perspectives when you look at the world. You’ll not only learn a lot of another’s culture but also just how peaceful and healthy your life can be by giving these techniques a try.
