Dewey Reynolds’ “Stuart Duffelmeyer and the Masters of Plagues” gets critical acclaim from the USRB

Dewey Reynolds’ popular YA fantasy novel, Stuart Duffelmeyer and The Masters of Plagues, has received critical acclaim from the US Review of Books for its “good old-fashioned revenge plot that can satisfy readers who want to see justice meted out however necessary.”

Michael Radon from the USRB quips that “anyone that has been bullied or teased has almost certainly dreamed of what it would be like to even the score, and this book follows that revenge fantasy to supernatural and satisfying heights.” Read the full review here.

The book’s main character, Stuart Duffelmeyer, is gifted with mystical powers and universally dynamic forces. Nonetheless, he is 100% human and an NYU student whose classmates play a horrible prank on him, leading to a catastrophic disaster in his life.

But their biggest mistake is to mess with him. After suffering from the malicious prank of his classmates, Stuart makes a resolve to get even with his tormentors. By some form of miracle, he discovers a magical Hebrew talisman with immense powers and he is thrust into a far away galaxy once the talisman is consecrated.

The spirit of Rabbi Irwin Wedemeyer, his advisor, explains to him that the talisman will grant him miraculous powers over all the creatures and elements of the Earth. The rabbi cautions Stuart against abusing the powers of the talisman, and Stuart returns to Earth to take his revenge using his new abilities. However, Stuart discovers the true consequences of revenge.
