The US Review of Books commends Emma McClain for her engaging poetry

Authors who have published with us are constantly gaining accolades from major book review outlets such as the US Review of Books. The latest author to receive critical acclaim from the USRB is Emma McClain, whose poetry collection, Poems from Still Waters Running Deep, has been praised for its engaging prose.

Mihir Shah from USRB particularly makes mention of the way McClain “combines an almost lyrical prose with repetition to enhance the energy of each piece.” For example, the repetition of “I am Christian. I am His” at the start of each quatrain in “I am Christian” makes it less significant “whether one is rich or poor, struggling or thriving.”

The book critique goes on to write that “McClain’s spirituality shines through in a compilation that effectively highlights God’s presence and virtue through everyday circumstances a human endures in the material world.” You can read the full review here.

Poems from Still Waters Running Deep is a rich compilation of Emma’s poems written over a period of four decades and at different chapters of her life. Every poem represents a unique phase in the author’s life, reverberating her thoughts and feelings during each stage.
