Author Spotlight: Ted Landkammer, author of “The Poppies on the Hill” and “Buffy the Butterfly”
Ted Landkammer, author of children’s books The Poppies on the Hill and Buffy the Butterfly, has never ceased to tell great stories to children, including his own kids and now his grandchildren. He has shared several interesting tales over the past three decades.
His book, The Poppies on the Hill, tells the story of Mrs. Brannigan and the children who take care of her: Sarah and her brother Joey. Granny Brannigan used to give chocolate cookies to all the boys and girls including Sarah and her friends who pass by her front gate. But one day, Mrs. Brannigan is not by her gate for the first time due to sickness. The children then take care of her.
Buffy the Butterfly is the story of an adventurous butterfly named Buffy. The book is inspired by the author’s own granddaughters’ love for butterflies. The book introduces a lighthearted story that will ignite the young readers’ imaginations.
He is a father of three and a grandfather of six wonderful grandchildren. Today, he channels his talent for storytelling through sharing great stories for other children. He currently lives in Soquel, California with his wife.
