US Review of Books describes Ben Rekittke’s “We Have All Been Broken” as cathartic, unorthodox and honest

Ben Rekittke’s poetry collection We Have All Been Broken has received critical acclaim from the US Review of Books for its cathartic nature and unorthodox message.

The poetry collection consists of the things the author wishes to say in dedication to those who feel broken and dead alike.

The USRB notes that the book is “gritty violent, yet still honest in an aggressive and disgusted sense”. The review also remarks that the book offers a modern view of people driven only by selfishness and manipulation. Each poem presents an “artistic view of the world written by someone who doesn’t like what they see”.

The book is also described as “vulgar, graphic, and shocking,”  leaving an immediate impact and telling a story and a perspective not commonly told through poetry.
