Rachel Carrington is Benji Cole’s guest in this episode of People of Distinction on CBS Radio

Rachel Carrington, author of The Early Years – a family-oriented, poverty-to-plenty memoir – has made a guesting on People of Distinction with Benji Cole from CBS Radio.

In the interview, the author shares how she came up with the idea behind the book and her experience completing the manuscript.

The Early Years tells the story of Rachel’s journey with her husband and how their love and dedication for each other kept moving them forward.

While she was attending high school in the small town of Denton, Kentucky, Rachel had already planned to attend college and become a teacher. Luckily, she was offered a lucrative scholarship that would help her attain her goal, with a coursework geared toward college attendance.

But an unexpected twist arrived when she met a World War II veteran who returned from war only to find his marriage in irreparable shambles and his children gone. Carrington saw him through his struggles, and they pulled together to wade through difficult times.
