Author Spotlight: Penny Higgins, author of “The Jiger and the Tiraffe”

Penny Higgins, author of The Jiger and the Tiraffe, has been writing poetry since the age of seven.

She has written several children’s stories, including Oscar, the Mighty Crab, There’s A Bear in My Bed and The Regimarilla from Regimarazz.

She is also a retired teacher. Her book aims to deliver a strong message for children: everyone is a special child of God.

Penny currently lives in a small retirement community in Oregon where she keeps busy doing volunteer work, and arts and crafts.

She has two sons, and a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren and a special great granddaughter.
