How to set the tone of your story

Tone in writing comes in many attributes. It refers to how you employ mood, register, and attitudes through your choice of words, sentence structure, and the narrator’s attitude toward a subject.

Below is a few effective steps to set the tone of your book.

Use adjectives

Adjectives provide unlimited tools for describing things. That is why these are great tools to control the tone of your story. There are three aspects of adjectives that can help you achieve this: connotation, sound, and color.
