Siegfried Wyner walks readers through his life story in a nutshell

Siegfried Wyner, author of The Life of a European-American Ingrained in New York, talks about how he dealt with moving to a new place after leaving Romania for New York City.

The book is based on real-life events detailing his experience migrating to a new country and his struggles that came with the transition.

Wyner gave a poignant account about how his girlfriend’s mother ruined his profound affection for the love of his life, Yolanda, when they were only 17 and 15 years old, respectively. He recalled how the mother told him, “My daughter will never marry you”, and everything broke up. Thus, the book is dedicated to Yolanda.

Later in his career as a civil engineer in New York City, Wyner faced a great challenge when his nomination to lead the Department of Buildings became the target of a smear campaign. In 1999, he won the post.
