Author Spotlight: Arthur Cola, author of legendary tales
Arthur Cola, author of several legendary novels including Murder in Mellifont, Murder in the Vatican, and Murder at the World’s Fair, is a retired educator.
The author lives in Burlington, Wisconsin together with his wife, Donna.
His interest in the arts drove him to embark on a writing career, with so much success. He adapted plays that were performed in his schools and created production of an original work: “What is America?”, which won the Bicentennial Award.
Arthur’s first published work was a children’s book, which he wrote for his grandchildren. That book led him to delve into writing novels based on history and legends for adults. He was a former history teacher who loved cultures, folklore and events from various periods of western history.
Arthur’s works of fiction are motivated by his love for history and its legends. He also loves collecting rocks, believed to be the source of his inspiration.
He was born in Chicago. Later, his family moved to Oak Park, IL, where he attended Oak Park-River Forest High School. He also attended Loyola University, Chicago, where he met Donna. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and post-graduate work at the University of St. Mary of the Lake and Loyola University, Rome.
While doing research for his novels, he traveled to Italy, Ireland, England and Wales and throughout the United States. Arthur has written several novels across various genres like Fantasy, Supernatural Thrillers and Historical Fiction.
