An excerpt from a book written by Carl Berryman, “2025”

Isn’t it relaxing to spend your time sipping your drink of choice and reading a good book? There is a lot going on in today’s world. Things happen so quickly that we hardly notice them. Why don’t we give a little time, a little rest, a little date with ourselves, as much as we are willing to contribute time and energy to our work and relationships? After all, taking such a break is unquestionably helpful; we get to rest and learn.

Carl Berryman’s novel “2025” is about a surprise attack launched from the International Space Station that kills 95 percent of the urban and suburban population of the United States in two weeks due to starvation, violence, and radiation. As strategic assets are destroyed, there will be no time for retaliation. For a brief while, our cities will become jungles dominated by gangs carving out their territory in search of food, water, plunder, and rape.

An EMP attack will magnetize all internal combustion engines, causing planes to fall out of the sky and all exposed vehicles to crash owing to a loss of control. Survivors will hope for a return to normalcy in vain. China attacks the United States, while Russia attacks Europe. This is a survival story.

Here’s an excerpt from the book:

“This will be an open door for any country with sufficient resources to walk right in. There won’t be any of us left to resist. Expect starvation and cold to kill about 280 million Americans over the next 90 to one hundred and eighty days. That means Russia and China. No one else would have the resources to cross an ocean. A couple of dozen large ships say large oil tankers fitted to carry people instead of oil, could quickly place hundreds of thousands of foreigners on our shores. They could make the voyage circular, bringing in thousands each trip, continuing indefinitely, even for a couple of years. Of course, they would have to bring their own vehicles and farm equipment or the equipment and parts to repair ours to use them. Wouldn’t you say this would be an excellent way for China to bleed off her excess population? All they would have to do is remove our decomposing bodies. They might even have plans to recycle the dead.”
