With business as one of its main goals, it is also a cultural festival in which literature plays a major role, including a program where authors from all continents and languages participate and a forum for the academic discussion of the major issues of our time.

For nine days, people willingly stood in long lines to listen to their favorite authors. The book industry makes Guadalajara its beating heart, and the whole city is filled with music, arts, cinema, and theater from the featured Guest of Honor country.

“The Pie, The Pie, and Oh That Smell!” has been displayed and featured in book fairs and magazines. It was displayed at the 2023 Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) and the Publishers Weekly Magazine.

This book received acclaim from the US Review of Books, which highlighted, “Images in the book of the happy family working together to not just make food but also clean up the inevitable mess that follows can make even the hard work look like fun. Children may also want to read the story multiple times to appreciate the upbeat attitude and good message but also to find a hidden chicken in every illustration. This book, with its large illustrations, colorful characters, and warm, inviting tone, not only shows kids how parents need and deserve gratitude for their efforts but also opens up the conversation about children pitching in on tasks that they may take an interest in when they are old enough to handle them.”
