“I remember when I first met him, oh, he was friendly enough but a little on the quiet side. He wasn’t much for talking to strangers. I guess I looked like a lost puppy when I spotted him at the gas station and went up to him and asked directions. Well, from that day until now we’ve become good friends. I don’t know why I was nervous. I was probably paranoid. I put the best smile on my face I could conjure up and headed inside. When I walked in and looked around, I couldn’t see too well; I had to wait and let my eyes adjust to the darkness in the place.”
