Things to be Thankful For: “Great Gobs of Goose Grease: An Account Of A Stroke Happening And The Trial And Struggles To Comeback”

Have you ever asked yourself, “What am I thankful for?”
In the fast-paced society that we live in, we often forget to take a pause and reflect on the things that we are thankful for. What’s worse is that we only realize the importance of that thing when it’s gone, and we lose the opportunity to express our gratitude.
There are many things that we should be grateful for. From having food at our table, a roof over our heads, clean water to drink, a decent job, clean clothes to wear, and a loving family that we can always lean on to whatever happens in our lives, these are some of the things that we should be grateful for.
For Connie Smith, author of “Great Gobs of Goose Grease: An Account Of A Stroke Happening And The Trial And Struggles To Comeback,” her family was her strength and inspiration for her recovery journey from a stroke she had in her early fifties. She also shared that the support and love that she got from her family really made a difference during her journey of recovery from stroke.
Having a supportive family is one of the things Connie is grateful for. Read some of her family’s statements for her book, “Great Gobs of Goose Grease: An Account Of A Stroke Happening And The Trial And Struggles To Comeback.”
A book like this would have given our family some much needed hope during Connie’s most critical weeks in the hospital. It should be mandatory reading for stroke family members.
