“Searchers: The Irish Clans, Book One of the Series” by Stephen Finlay Archer was displayed at the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) – Book Gallery

“Searchers: The Irish Clans, Book One of the Seriesby Stephen Finlay Archer was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) at the University of Southern California on April 20–21, 2024. This historical narrative was reviewed and highly praised by Aaron Washington of the Hollywood Book Reviews, who acknowledges that “Searches: The Irish Clans is an excellent book for teens and young adults. The language in the book is modest, and the author uses simple and discernible diction. You do not have to be a history enthusiast to enjoy this book as Mr. Stephen Finlay Archer expounds on any unfamiliar term, unknown historical event and even the historical figures mentioned in the book. I award Searches: The Irish Clans with “Notable” because of the mystery, adventure, suspense, drama and vivid description employed by the author in his narration. I also admired the book because of the many lessons on war and peace, politics, loyalty, poverty, and history.”

The LATFOB is considered to be one of the world’s most significant literary gatherings. It has been held every year since 1996 with the goal of bringing together the people who create books and the people who love to read them. It is attended by more than 550 authors, celebrities, storytellers, and hundreds of exhibitors.

The Los Angeles Times is the country’s biggest metropolitan daily newspaper, with more than 40 million unique latimes.com visitors monthly, a Sunday print readership of 1.6 million, and a combined print and online local weekly viewership of 4.4 million. The Pulitzer Prize-winning Times has been covering Southern California for more than 140 years.

Author Reputation Press once again showcased some of its amazing books in a wide selection of genres in this year’s LATFOB. This book gallery aims to connect readers and authors by exposing it at an event attended by audiences around the globe.

Stephen Finlay Archer lives in Northern California with his wife, Kathy. He creates Irish historical fiction that explores Ireland’s heroic, difficult, and magical history. Stephen chose the budding profession of Aerospace Engineering in the 1960s and went on to handle the design, construction, and testing of communications satellites in Canada. He moved to California in 1983 to work for the Hughes Space and Communications Company.

He is a member of Writers Unlimited in California Goldrush Country and the North American and Irish branches of the Historical Novel Society. Prior to his retirement, he was an Aerospace Manager directing large-scale, delivery-in orbit, satellite systems for the U.S. Navy and NASA/NOAA.

“Searchers: The Irish Clans, Book One of the Series” is the first novel in a four-book saga that begins with a travesty at sea necessitating searches for life’s true treasures, both in 1915 Ireland, when the funeral of O’Donovan Rossa affords golden opportunity to fan the flames of revolution, and in America, for transplanted Irish families connected to the world of the Irish Clans.
