This book is dedicated to the author’s parents, Audrey and Frank White. They have both gone on to be with the Lord, but their influence remains with all who know them. They loved the Lord and had given themselves to Him with fullness of heart. They are greatly missed, never forgotten, and always present in spirit. Lorraine loves her mom and dad.
Her mom was a woman, much like Ruth. She had great insight and was gentle, kind, and compassionate to all. She expressed God’s love to others through her unselfish actions. She’s a giver by nature, not self-gratifying but rather always looking out for the comfort and welfare of others. She stood with the Lord and His people. Nothing could or would separate her from that determination to serve and honor her heavenly Father.
Her dad was a river that ran deep. He did not take the things of God lightly. He pondered over the word of God and held it close to his heart. His reverence toward the Lord exceeded the norm, and he was motivated by every unction of God’s Spirit and profoundly cherished His word. He honored all who walked upright before God and withdrew himself from all who held contempt for God.
The book of Ruth is more than just a storge love story. The book of Ruth is a compelling story of transitional commitment to a new and different way of life and a new beginning of a relationship with the true and only Heavenly Father.
