Carl Berryman’s dystopian fiction “2025” receives praise from The US Review of Books

In line with Author Reputation Press’ effort to bolster the credibility of our authors, we’re pleased to announce today that another book we’ve published has received critical acclaim from another major book review outlet trusted by dozens of thousands of readers. Carl Berryman’s “2025” is the latest book from our shelves to be praised by The US Review of Books (USRB).

The dystopian novel tells the story of an attack plotted by China and Russia against the U.S. and Europe, launched from the International Space Station. The invasion results in the annihilation of 95% of the urban and suburban U.S. population within two weeks due to starvation, violence, and the effects of radiation.

To bust any attempt at retaliation, the invaders destroyed all the strategic assets of their targets and the western cities have become jungles ruled for a short time by gangs that carve out their own turf. Everyone is seeking food and water to survive while the others go on about their plundering and raping.

An EMP attack immediately magnetizes all internal combustion engines; airplanes fall from the skies; all unprotected vehicles immediately crash due to loss of control. Survivors wait in vain for a return to normalcy.

A story of survival, 2025 is described by Toby Berry for the USRB as follows:

Berryman’s book is well written and well organized. It includes intelligent details about weaponry, politics, history, genetically modified foods, and even geology. The author describes plate tectonics and likely earthquake activity should wide-scale bombing ever take place on earth. He writes about the effects of nuclear war on the future climate. He also imagines the value of preparedness and survivalists.

Berry also cites the questions raised by the book’s narrative as “thought-provoking”. In the end, the critic recommends 2025 to readers, thus:

“After seeing a possible future from Berryman’s perspective, readers will need to decide who would and would not survive if nations think of only their national interests. For those who like war strategy and fast-paced, smart dystopian novels, this book should be a perfect read.”
