“… Throughout life, God allows us to go through valleys and mountaintop experiences, and in those valleys, it seems very desperate—either your finances or your family or your health is affected. And those valley experiences are what make us strong. Just remember that there is always that mountaintop and the air is so nice and refreshing, and you can enjoy the mountaintop experience after the valley. Enjoy it because that is what life is about.”
– Anne Nelson
In rural Alabama, close to Roanoke, Alabama, on a mill pond road, author Annie Foster Nelson was born in 1939. She is the seventh child. They relocated to the remote Abbottsford Community, which is close to La Grange, Georgia, when she was 1 and a half years old. She then relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 15, seeking greater possibilities. She obtained her diplomas from Atlanta, Georgia’s Sylvan High School, and Artistic Beauty School. She has been married to the father of her three children for 52 years and has seven grandchildren. She has been a resident of Fayette County, Georgia, for 40 years. She continues to work as a hairstylist and is studying Hebrew as a significant challenge.
Through this book, the author hopes to convey to readers the importance of choosing a path that is bright and positive in life. We should express our love and willingness to God based on the teachings we have received from Him.
Her grandchildren, kids, and anybody else who reads this book should let it serve as an encouragement to them. It makes no difference if you are from the lower, middle, or upper classes. God made each and every one of us equal. At the cross, the terrain is level for all. All of us are capable of surviving.
Put on your boots, pull them up, and move forward without hesitation. Never say, “Poor me!” See how God has blessed you by looking around. Wear the Shield of Faith and carry your head high. You are God’s creation, and He doesn’t make losers or failures, so by all means, give Him glory and praise. You are aware that He created each of us in order for us to have a relationship with Him. Why not then? This has been quite an adventure thus far.
