The US Review of Books (USRB) commended Wyveda I. Philbert’s “A Young Man’s Dream: An Old Man’s Reality” because “this charming travel memoir offers day-to-day vignettes that reveal what it takes to follow dream”

“A Young Man’s Dream: An Old Man’s Reality” by Wyveda I. Philbert is highly praised by Michelle Jacobs of the US Review of Books.
Wyveda I. Philbert lives in southern Indiana in a long red cedar cabin in the woods with her husband and her cat. They have 6 children. She loves spending time with her grandchildren and serving in her church. She enjoys working in her flower garden. She was the past president of the local garden club. She enjoys drawing, painting, and knitting, as well as feeding the local birds that visit her yard.
“A Young Man’s Dream: An Old Man’s Reality” is a day-to-day journal about the 5000-mile boat trip known as “The Loop” or “The Great Circle”. A young man’s dream of doing this trip after reading a book about it. After working on the sailboat, it was ready to make the trip. There were some hair-raising experiences and a lot of fun times spent as we grew closer as a couple. There is a lot of history and beauty on the water to experience. I would encourage everyone to follow their dreams, whatever they might be.
Here’s an excerpt from the US Review of Books that highlights:
“Readers will be transported aboard Whoosher and will feel what it means to follow through on the adventurous longings of life. Philbert’s journal is pleasantly captivating, forthright, and open-minded. Her delight is infectious and will offer armchair escapism or inspiration depending on a reader’s spirit and desire for a voyage around The Great Loop.”
