Gordon Hughes discusses financial literary for the teens with Ric Bratton
Author and Certified Financial Planner Gordon Hughes talks financial literary for the youth in this interview with Ric Bratton for This Week In America. In the book, Money Smarts For Teens & Twenties, Hughes highlights the importance of not just knowing how to manage your finances, but also understanding why you should do so to begin with.
For Gordon, financial literacy must be taught as early as during our teenage years when our financial decisions are often crucial. Learning the value of money during this stage of our life is an important step toward understanding the importance of investing and spending wisely for the future.
It is in this premise that Gordon decided to write his book, Money Smarts For Teens & Twenties. The book begs the question of not just knowing how to manage your finances, but also understanding why you should do so to begin with.
Gordon started his career in the finance industry as a junior to Accountant Assistant at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in 1964 before moving up to the role of Accountant Assistant. Gordon founded Smart Choice Life Inc. in 2009, offering retirement planning for individuals within ten years of retiring. You can watch the entire interview below:
