Tiff Jon’s “The Broken Poet” offers a glimpse into the author’s life
The Broken Poet by Tiff Jon is now available to purchase via our online bookstore.
The poetry collection is a riveting read that reflects the author’s life story. Jon’s father, William Christian Dethlefsen, served in the Army Air Corp during WWII in North Africa and Italy. Meanwhile, her father in law, Riley Mack Tidwell, served in WWII with Ernie Pyle.
After the war, Tidwell helped create the movie Go Joe with Robert Mitchum.
During the Vietnam War, Jon married a marine during and served later during peacetime at Walter Reed as a medic.
Jon is the only woman veteran in her entire family. Serving in the military was her way of recapturing the life that she had and lost and replacing it with another love: the military and our country.
The author admits having made many bad choices in her life. Jon has a medical condition called bipolar.
