The poetry collection contains the things the author wrote based on her personal experience from mental, verbal and emotional abuse.

Victims of these types of abuses suffer for years even after they happened. In Grubbs’s opinion, they are the worst kinds of abuse.

They damage their victims in the worst way. The damage they cause cannot be seen by others and lasts for eternity.
