Daniel Harmeson’s poem collection, “The Ramblings of a Father,” which is now available for purchase, celebrates the beauty of spontaneity with raw and realistic words of thoughts and emotions

We believe that our thoughts can be hidden in our minds, but this is not the case. This concept of the power of our thoughts is straightforward: what a person thinks on the inside will become who they are on the outside. Thoughts have an effect. Our thoughts can make us ill or help us heal. Great thoughts fortify the heart and give it the fortitude to go after the impossible. Accept positive thinking and let its power transform our hearts completely.

Do we ever feel like we’re drowning in emotions? Many of us strive to suppress or dismiss our feelings. It can be difficult to comprehend having a wide range of emotions. Our emotions can sometimes get the best of us. We can even wonder if hope and emotions are mutually exclusive. We will be stronger if we can figure out how to deal with them. We don’t have to hide or be governed by our feelings. Emotions are a natural part of who we are, and they are neither good nor bad. It is how we manage them that makes the difference.

When our emotions become out of control and begin to dictate our well-being, we may find ourselves trapped in self-made prisons that are difficult to escape from. We must strike a suitable balance and learn how to properly express our emotions. For our emotional and spiritual well-being, mindfulness is vital.

The Ramblings of a Father is a collection of short, simple, and realistic poetry that is intended to make readers smile, inspire, or simply get through the day.

Harmeson began writing “Dear Jasmine” letters to his granddaughter before she was born, which became the basis for The Ramblings of a Father. The letters were compiled into a book, which was later made into a collection of poems. The theme is “basically just simplistically realistic ramblings about experiences, emotions, family, and my way of life,” as Harmeson would put it.

The author hopes that readers will respond to the poems by relating to them. Its goal is to elicit a mental or emotional response.
