Daryl B. Sutter, author of “The Day I Reached My Tipping Point,” was interviewed by radio host Benji Cole of CBS Radio

The book, The Day I Reached My Tipping Point, is intended for an educational audience but is also relatable to all since education covers a multitude of aspects of life. The age group includes rookie instructors in their twenties as well as seasoned educators.

People have different sets of choices or life experiences. However, education can help to level the playing field. That is why we pay attention to teachers, learn about our schools, tutor in our communities, and invest in learning spaces where people cannot help but learn. Learn more about how education opens doors and why we should be concerned about it.

The main takeaways from this book, The Day I Reached My Tipping Point, are first, a better knowledge of Compassion Fatigue (CF) or Occupational Stress Injury (OSI) and how it affects educators. Second, that the reasons can be identified, and that preventative measures can be taken. Finally, the author, Daryl B. Sutter, wants the readers to know that there is hope and that recovery is possible. The major goal of this book is to raise awareness about CF and OSI among educators. CF and OSI in educators can be a long-term process in which teachers may not even notice the consequences until something out of the ordinary happens, because they may be simply snapped.

Readers are encouraged to contact the author at the provided email address, darylb@sutterandassociates.com, after recognizing CF/OSI in the educator’s life and/or career, to share anonymous events, stories, and/or occurrences of how, when, and why CF/OSI impacted their professional and personal lives. These would subsequently be put to good use. Tales From the Trenches is a supplement to another book. The book is a supplement to the author’s Sutter and Associates counseling, therapy, and educational consulting firm.

The enlightening interview is chock-full of in-depth discussion on topics that are rarely discussed. Allow the book to speak for itself in terms of its justified truth that it is worthwhile to read.
