Empire Knights: The Legendary Aubrey Durrell is a book that tells the story of a young man who was born and raised in Empire, Georgia, a small town in central Georgia. While there is a real Empire, it is different from the one presented in this book. It is a small village of no more than four hundred (400) people, with only one lonely caution light to alert you to your presence.

Empire had its own school many years ago, as did other settlements of comparable size, such as Union Hill, Roddy, Chester, Chauncey, and others, and it was this thinking that sparked the idea of what if those communities had developed differently and still had their schools today.

This story depicts life through the perspective of Aubrey Durrell, a gifted young athlete, and singer who adores his hometown and carries the principles of hard work, faith, and devotion to his family and friend with him wherever he goes. The plot follows Aubrey and his comrades as they compete for athletic dominance against other small towns, particularly Union Hill, their primary foe. Following him throughout his undergraduate years and into his marriage to a girl he met there. Along the way, he fell in love with his high school sweetheart, who broke his heart, and dealt with life’s challenges and temptations while remaining faithful to his parents’ principles in Empire, Georgia.
