Tootsie Barron discusses with CBS Radio’s Benji Cole her book “I Can See the Rainbow Bridge” and how pets truly do go to a wonderful place after they cross the “Rainbow Bridge”

Grief is an inevitable aspect of existence. Grief is a universal human emotion to which no one is immune. The grieving process can be tough to navigate when we lose someone we care about. It can happen at any time, and it usually happens when we least expect it. Don’t let it get to us. Make it until the end.

When we have a pet companion, we can see and experience grief in a different light. Pets have a lot to teach us about unconditional love and loyalty. Allow our pet’s love and loyalty to provide us with strength and confidence as we go about our daily lives and remember how much our pets enjoy being with us.

Tootsie Barron’s I Can See the Rainbow Bridge is a poetic children’s book about a dog and a woman’s bond. They do not meet in a great and pleasant manner. They do, however, value each other’s presence. Boy Scout, the dog, and Tootsie, the woman, get along well and have happy memories.

Boy Scout does not abandon Tootsie when she is confronted with brokenness and quietness but instead embraces her with his loving presence. They cry, pray, and cope with the indescribable grief as a family. The story’s bitter conclusion is that they must split ways and no longer be for each other.

When children finish reading this book, the author hopes that they will realize that their beloved pets do indeed go to a beautiful place when they cross the ‘Rainbow Bridge’.
