Adam Turner, the author of the insightful book “Pain”, talks to Benji Cole about his book that captures the truth and meaning of pain, leading the readers to the journey of healing
Adam Turner and Benji Cole scratched the surface and shared with the audience the deeper sense of pain and the issues that surround it, which is the subject of the book, Pain.
Anxiety pervades our lives, and it appears that there are a limitless number of sources of stress that we must deal with. Worry, anxiety, and fear can be paralyzing.
The intensity of pain and sadness can frequently force us to skip over healthy healing. We can often feel alone and as if no one knows what we’re going through, whether we’re going through difficult times, feeling overwhelmed by circumstances, or simply having a terrible day. When we are going through a season of hardships and tribulations, we frequently feel neglected and overlooked. However, it is at our lowest point, at our point of agony and suffering, that the experience shapes our character, molds us for better things, and prepares us for the next level.
Fear is provoked by pain. Fear is a natural emotion. It’s also destructive, and perfectly content to oversee our lives. Fear has triumphed in far too many conflicts, and we’ve had enough. How can we overcome fear and give our dreams a chance to live? Fear may be where we begin, but it is not where we must remain. What if we could transform our dread into hope and trust? It’s the decision to choose hope over despair when life tells you otherwise. It is looking to the future rather than the past. How can we get through life’s storms and go on to something bigger than our fears?
Pain by Adam Turner is a narrative about Sky. Sky has discovered that love does not exist after blaming her mother and others for her years of drunkenness and abuse. She hears a bell and wakes up in an ancient house full of weird people after throwing herself into traffic to stop her pain. Each person has their own frightened pains, some of which are disguised behind slowly cracking masks.
Abdus Shafi, a strange man who claims to own the house and calls it a haven of healing, assures her that he is there to assist her. However, as some seemingly unusual occurrences take a sinister turn, Abdus’ allegations become further from the truth. Sky will have to choose between finding the actual meaning of pain and facing demons while battling her own troubles and a voice from her past.
