WM. Hovey Smith talks to Benji Cole from CBS Radio about his book “Until Death Do You Part: An American Family Meets Their Sicilian family”, a book full of adventures where drama and action have roles to play

WM. Hovey Smith and Benji Cole scraped the surface and discussed with the audience what motivated the author to write Until Death Do You Part: An American Family Meets Their Sicilian Family, a sneak peek into what the book is about, and the wisdom the author hopes to impart to the readers.

Until Death Do You Part: An American Family Meets Their Sicilian family follows the exploits of a third-generation Sicilian family from Louisiana. Frank, a Marine Captain, and his artist brother Roger, together with their father, mother, sister, and gay uncle, take a family holiday to Sicily. When they arrive on Monday, they discover that Frank and Roger must marry ladies they haven’t seen on Friday, or none of the family will make it off the island alive.

They are attacked by a rival Mafia family while exploring the island with their prospective wives, and they meet an Irish priest, a wild boar, and several relatives. Their uncle and priest arrange for the guys to be seen in bed with two gay escorts by their prospective brides in the hopes that the women will cancel the wedding. There’s no difference. The wedding is on Friday, according to Luigi, the new leader, who is keen to demonstrate his family’s strength while simultaneously keeping them safe.

WM. Hovey Smith draws extensively on his background as an exploration geologist, decorated combat engineer officer, outdoorsman, art enthusiast, and archeological storyteller. The author creates realistic settings in this work by including painstaking details about local cuisine in both Louisiana and Italy.
