David Davila, the author of “ADAM,” was born in Austin, Texas, and served in the United States Marine Corps for six and a half years. He moved to Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Rosalee, after leaving the Marine Corps, where he worked for the Postal Service and penned his first novel, “Two Souls.” He returned to Austin, Texas, where he worked for the US Postal Service for the final fifteen years of his career.
“ADAM,” tells the narrative of Dr. Jeffrey Mongroll II, who, in his grief over the death of his father, created a monster. He swore to develop the ideal humanoid that would flourish in this world and eventually replace humans as we know them. It got away and ended up in the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. If this species is allowed to exist, humanity will perish.
The task is entrusted to Detective Pete Rodrequiz, a transplant from Texas, and his new partner, Johnny Rodrequiz. This savage, enigmatic beast was the cause of death. Pete was perplexed by the phantom killer. Why is it that the innocent are killed? Dr. Mongroll was approached by Pete. There appeared to be no way to stop this serial killer until his group was granted some time off. The beast had been spotted. Pete sought assistance from marine researcher Dr. Robis, Dr. Mongroll and his colleagues, and the Navy SEAL Team.
The story will take you on an emotional voyage of terror, as you fear what lies in the river’s depths. The beast attacks the Navy SEAL team and the submersible with Dr. Robis and Dr. Mongroll and his colleagues at the depths of the Willamette. They watched as the beast slaughtered many members of the SEAL Team. The war for life between man and monster, and life as we know it, began on the deck of the coast guard ship.
