Stephen Francis Montagna, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is the author of “Wind.” He came from a hard-working old-world Italian family who wanted to achieve the American Dream. His family relocated to Carmel, New York after his father died at the age of fifty-two. Mr. Montagna married, keeping with his family’s old traditions as well as those of his new family.
He is a well-known novelist who writes on sensitive subjects such as murder, mystery, and intrigue. He began writing in 1996 and has completed 23 novels, three screenplays, and three country and western songs.
He’s having a terrific time and appreciating what God has given him. He enjoys fishing and has a second home on Duck Key where his boats are moored. When he takes a break from book signings and writing, he sneaks down to Marathon in the Keys.
He spoke to SAG (Screen Actors Guild) members the day before the Academy Awards. He attended the awards before heading to Japan, China, Germany, Italy, France, and England on a book signing tour.
He now resides in the Florida Keys, where he conducts interviews with members of the press, elected leaders, and government officials, as well as vigilantly analyzes prospective terrorist threats.
“Wind” is the story of a female samurai fighter in 1333, during the most male-dominated period in history. Her tenacity, ability, and disciplined combat paid off in the end, and she died along with a Shogun’s curse on her sword, in which she and the sword would be forever connected.
