David Davila’s “Two Souls” screenplay has been produced in preparation for the book’s qualification for a Hollywood movie adaptation
ARP’s Hollywood Movie Script Coverage service aims to provide a written outline of the author’s book—a screenplay—that will be stored in a database that major studios can consult when seeking stories to adapt into films. Recently, a Hollywood-style script was written for David Davila’s excellent book, “Two Souls”. In this novel, the antagonist must battle a demonic monster that was once an evil Aztec witch doctor.
The screenplay is the common ground on which producers, directors, actors, and production teams working on the movie will collaborate from start to finish and serves as a roadmap for them in terms of what will be seen on the big screen.
David Davila, the author of “Two Souls,” was born in Austin, Texas, and served in the United States Marine Corps for six and a half years. He moved to Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Rosalee, after leaving the Marine Corps, where he worked for the Postal Service and penned his first novel, “Two Souls.” He returned to Austin, Texas, where he worked for the US Postal Service for the final fifteen years of his career.
The protagonist of the story is a witch doctor who seeks to become the devil’s instrument of power in order to inflict horror and violence on others. It’s an intriguing horror tale that attempts to fuse modern society with old mystic folktales.
Moreover, “Two Souls” is commended by the US Review of Books, saying, “Davila delivers a highly charged, exciting adventure in this novel. His narrative is intelligent and multilayered. The characters are vividly described and continue to develop as the story progresses. The dialogue is written in a realistic way that reflects each character’s personality. The author’s use of contrary concepts, such as ancient lore and its place in modern society, provides depth and texture to the story. Readers will find themselves engrossed in this smart, entertaining action novel with the ultimate confrontation between good and evil.”
The central character of “Two Souls” is an enigmatic man-serpent who terrorizes a small Texas town. The only person who can prevent this monstrosity from spreading mayhem is Pete Rodriguez. Rodriguez is a brave detective who is looking into a series of bizarre murders that will eventually result in the trial of serial killer Bobby the Slayer. On the other hand, the unusual killings remain a mystery to the police. Is it Bobby or something entirely different? When Rodriguez looks for the truth, he comes across antiquated mythology that only he can end. Will he have enough time to find Two Souls? Rodriguez follows the demolition trail to a terrifying end.
