Mokbel Almaylaa was raised in Damascus, Syria, after being born in Beirut in 1954. He worked for various local magazines and newspapers while earning his master’s in philosophy from the University of Damascus in 1980.
His residences and places of employment over the years have included Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, India, the Philippines, Germany, Switzerland, and France. He currently resides and is employed in the USA.
The train of time that picked up His Imperial Majesty and has been traveling for a century is detailed in “Graveyard of The Greats.” The Sultan Abdul Hamid II, Emperor of the Ottomans, Caliph of The Faithful, and last picked Yitzhak Rabin, the Fifth Prime Minister of Israel. The greats of the 20th century, including Jamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt, Hitler, Stalin, Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Kennedy, and others, traveled on a railway that is over a century old. Different ideologies that occasionally sparked either bloody battles or cold wars were all over their briefcases.
The journey is finished at the train’s final stop at the “Graveyard of The Greats,” but the memories passed down by the passengers will be kept inside the covers of this book.
