Grant M. Handgis, author of “Marinating in Dream Sauce” is interviewed by Benji Cole of CBS Radio. The author gives an introduction and explains what motivated him to write and release this book.
Grant M. Handgis is a talented writer and retired photographer. When he retired, he started writing, and it took him some time to write the book that was featured in the interview. He gives a wonderful account of his philosophical journey and epiphanies, which turns into a memoir. His book, “Marinating in Dream Sauce,” is a satirical memoir wherein he shares his humorous journey as a person from someone who started as a clueless kid to someone who is learning how to face reality.
In the interview, the author shared a lot of things and thoughts that can be considered lessons in life. His views were broad, and his wisdom was something remarkable. He also mentioned that the title of his book is a satirical metaphor for dreaming yourself into the real world.
He also shared some of the contents of the book that showcase his younger years, wherein children were innocent, such as the quote “I’ll show you mine, you show me yours.” That didn’t turn out well. For youngsters, it might be considered a nightmare, but for adults who have reached an age where they have already learned how the world works, it’s funny. It’s the innocence that makes it satire.
Some of his remarkable words stated in the interview will surely leave a mark on the listener’s heart. Such as, “We dream ourselves where we want to go. If you dream it, you can create it. If you believe in it, it can happen.” In the end, he left a message that everyone can relate to.
