“Do you want to get well?” – Meet “THE HEALER”
“When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
John 5:6
Admitting that you’re wounded, broken, or sick invites healing. The wounded (sick) has to admit first so healing can take place. Humility is a requirement to meet The Healer. Wanting to be healed is a prerequisite of the healing process.
A willingness to heal entails the fortitude to accept risks, move forward, seek guidance, do whatever is necessary, and have faith in the Healer. God won’t meet us halfway till then.
“The Healer” was written by Jean-Marie Nkusi. It is about him when he was just twelve years old. He was living in a refugee camp in Burundi when he got malaria and went into a coma. He had a miraculous, transformative religious experience while he lay on the hospital bed, surrounded by his family, who were reciting the Rosary. He perceived his body rising towards Heaven, where he encountered Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. They informed him that although he had been restored, he still had to come back to earth to spread the special message of God’s love.
What are you in need of healing or deliverance from? A physical ailment? A malady of emotions (bitterness, wrath, anger, etc.)? Spiritual sickness [a lack of love for God]? Financial sickness? Or… You are being questioned by THE HEALER, who is asking, “Do you want to be made well?” Are you committed to putting in the necessary effort and letting go of your previous habits of thinking and acting? Are you ready to start something completely new, go after the Healer with all your might, and forsake the past? Do you genuinely desire to be healed? Consider it and all of its consequences before responding.
