Karen Leis Welsh, the author of the book, spent 23 years educating children at an elementary school before she became an author of children’s books. Her experience as an elementary reading and the writing teacher introduced her to the world of children’s literature and piqued her interest in writing and publishing her own works.
She enjoys reading and wants her children to enjoy reading as well. She hopes that by writing books that teach about life in an entertaining way, she can instill a lifelong love of reading in children. She is also the author of the children’s book “Eh, Spaghetti You Say?” A light-hearted book about staying in touch with family.
Frolicking Friends is a delightful, entertaining rhyming picture book about a boy who goes in search of his unusual friends after a rainstorm. He comes across them in a delightful location and joins them in their fun. When the storm clouds return, the boy is quick to assist his friends in getting home. The illustrations and literary elements such as rhyme, onomatopoeia, character traits, and imagination will undoubtedly delight the young reader.
Kids love to explore things, and they often do the weirdest things as they try to explore the world. Just like in this book, the young boy was searching for his odd friends who happened to be insects, bugs, and animals living in their home. The boy doesn’t hate them, he cares for them, and it is what kids normally do.
Friendship can be found in any form of life.
