Carolyn Luger Vermes began writing aphorisms and poems as a teenager and continued into adulthood, amassing a repertoire of over sixty original songs. She was encouraged to become an opera singer but instead chose to raise a family and write and perform her music.

She is a poet who mainly focuses on writing aphorisms, short and humorous statements that reveal a philosophical or moral truth about the human condition. Her lyrics and poetry reflect her conviction that any perceived darkness in life may be vanquished and illuminated by loving kindness, remorse, and forgiveness. To raise this understanding, she employs subtle comedy and moving introspection. Just like what she’d written in her poetry books, which enclose a concise truth of reality that may have whimsical and thought-provoking elements. Indeed, uplifting books for our time.

Carolyn is not just good at poetry but also in music, such as opera music, wherein she has written several compositions. Opera is a type of theatre in which singers play dramatic roles and music plays a major part. She was offered to become one and perform in front of people while portraying characters and possibly singing songs she composed. One of her masterpieces is entitled “Every Morning Is A New Beginning.” It is about life and hopes to move forward each day.

Literature is interwoven with music. Poems can be lyrics to a song. Music expresses emotion and thought. It existed before speech and is above and beyond all words.
