A professional book trailer for John Albert Buchness’ “Diary of a Baby Boomer” has been released. A narrative about life and its countless rhythms.
John Albert Buchess, the author, is a former high school teacher who graduated from UC Berkeley in June 1970. He now lives on a small, non-working farm near Eden, Maryland, with his wife and twenty-four-year-old son. He enjoys tending to his farm’s acres and his wife’s garden. Buchness also gives concerts for Eden residents and plays classical guitar on Sundays at St. Francis’ Roman Catholic Church. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, he now provides at-home concerts on YouTube, which may be viewed at stfrancis.org. He enjoys teaching guitar and writing at home.
“Diary of a Baby Boomer” explores the unusual life of an ordinary guy, John Albert Buchness. Buchness follows his journey from birth to adulthood across the cities he has called home throughout his life. His interesting story is full of adventure, romance, heartbreak, partying, art, and music, as he lives between the United States and Europe. Buchness concludes with a sequence of poems drawn from his life’s thoughts, offering an incisive look at life and what we might make of it.
Life is tough, but the journey makes it valuable. It is not as fair as we always thought. There are ups and downs that we need to face with grit because it is what it is. Kat Kennedy of the US Review of Books commended the “Diary of a Baby Boomer,” mentioning that:
“… As public and private events touch his life, he relates his impressions of them with honesty. He also candidly details his problems with alcohol and drugs, his practice of yoga, his interest in diet, and his reactions to pivotal events such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which occurred during his senior year of high school…”
