Looking back to Marco Santucci’s first memories as a child, knowing there were spirits near him, at least in the dark of the night, did nothing but scare him. Then he didn’t think they came every night, or they just didn’t let him know they were there sometimes. It was the times when he could feel pressure at the edge of his bed where his cat, Boots, used to lie between his feet, but she was not there. He would bolt straight up, hoping she was there, thinking maybe he had just forgotten she was there, but then there was nothing.
Ghosts were never a topic of conversation, neither positive nor negative, in the household. Being raised Catholic never really had an effect on what the author felt, knowing what or who was around him. They were just taught that it was Heaven or Hell, black and white, with Purgatory as the gray area. The author’s mother was a devout Catholic until the day she died in January 2003. Looking back, that is when this story really began.
The birth of “Paranormal Noise: Listen Beyond the Silence” came from the death of the author’s mom, along with an event that shortly followed. He began to search for the truth. Is death just black and white, heaven and hell? He realized he was able to capture the real-time conversation with and between spirits. He was hooked, and they knew it.
They spoke, and the author recorded, listening to everything. Some are harmless, some belligerent. A young man died out of carelessness, the author knew who he was. The author asked for him to speak, but first, the author recorded his death as quickly as it unfolded in the author’s ears when played back. Then silence, then one word. His wife’s name which the author knew, confirmed his identity and opened the door to the Other Side for the author, knowing then there was no turning back.
