“Sisterhood: The Story of Bella” by Kathy Houchins is now available for purchase
“Bella has had her fair share of hurt over the years and all any of the sisters wanted was to take care of each other and not see anyone hurt. She loved them for their concern.”
– an excerpt from the book
Author Reputation Press has published “Sisterhood: The Story of Bella” by Kathy Houchins. This book is the first in a series of stories about a group of ladies who would be considered by some to be the “good ole gals” of their community. They controlled a lot of people and how their community worked without anyone really knowing who they were or what they did. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Author Kathy Houchins has been a storyteller for most of her life. She finally decided to put her stories together and put them down in writing. As a lover of mystique and romance, she brings her characters to life and throws in the mystery of who did what throughout her stories.
She is the oldest of eight children. She was born in Key West, Florida, and spent most of her life living in Florida. She has 2 children and 5 stepchildren that she equally loves.
After being on dialysis for 4 years, she finally received a kidney transplant in July 2022. She will be putting together a book outlining the journey to obtaining that kidney. It is quite a story, and as she says, “You can’t make this stuff up” (Oh…and 40 years in the Hospitality Industry will provide many stories. Maybe a book or two will be forthcoming on this subject. Keep a look out).
She is also a Life Director of the Fort Walton Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and continues to attend and participate as often as possible. Through her chamber initiatives, she was one of the founders of putting a Homeless Shelter in place to solve the panhandling issues on the corners of the city streets.
She is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for United for a Good Cause, Inc. (501c3), an organization that helps children in the community. Their latest claim to fame is the introduction of the Hope Squad program within the Florida Panhandle schools. This is a peer-to-peer program to overcome bullying and to help prevent suicides within all the schools, from elementary all the way up to high schools. It has been highly successful and the state powers are seriously considering incorporating this program into all the schools in the state of Florida.
“Sisterhood: The Story of Bella” is the first book in a series of five individual books. The storyline is basically about four women who grow up together in a small town in Mississippi. They are sisters who end up controlling the town and everything that happens within and around it.
She (Bella) happens to be one of the sisters, and she is a fashion model who ventures away from town and travels all over Europe for her career. She eventually moves back to her hometown with a new husband in town.
Of course, the other sisters really do not know who she married. The other sisters are somewhat leery of him as something just doesn’t seem right. Well, could they be right when one of the sisters happens to learn about a few things he does not want Bella to know about, the world takes on a new look?
The sisters come together to review all the information they know, make plans on how to verify the information, and then decide on what to do. They have hidden talents that only they know about that enable them to do many things out of the ordinary.
There is a mysterious man who seems to be hiding in plain sight throughout the story. Who is this man and what is he doing? Odd how nobody has picked up on his presence yet. And to whom is he reporting?
This first book ends with a concern about what will happen next, and the second book, “The Story of Eleanor” will bring some light to the mystery man.
Each book is about each sister, with the final book tying the 4 previous stories together. Save the 5th book for last so you can be surprised with the final ending.
