Author Reputation Press has published a French edition of “Charlie and the Elephant” by Loretta Beacham. “Charlie et l’ éléphant,” the motivational and inspiring children’s picture book, is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Loretta Beacham lives in Ottawa with her partner, Adam, and their daughters, Charlotte and Violet. Charlie’s (the author’s daughter, Charlotte) imaginative story served as an inspiration for “Charlie and the Elephant.” Like most children, Charlie has a huge sense of curiosity. She enjoys telling stories, just like other kids, even if her mother (the author) begs her to go to bed. Several dust bunnies, several plush animals, a few board games, and stray LEGO parts are all part of family life.
Yvette Besner, the book’s illustrator, appreciates reading about charity, so she was thrilled to collaborate with Loretta Beacham on this moving narrative. Yvette, a Canadian artist and illustrator, provided the amusing and bright illustrations for “Charlie and the Elephant.” She and her two most famous creatures, Leia and Serena, live in Ottawa with her husband, Shawn. When she isn’t working on art, you can find Yvette on the road with her family and friends, dreaming up new ways to convey joy.
“Charlie and the Elephant” came from the author’s daughter’s imaginative story. The book is about a curious girl and kind who’s chosen by a big blue elephant to banish the cruel poachers from the forest. In a daring and determined plan, they join forces with the clever, talkative Mr. Crow and the empathetic, self-sacrificing Miss Ash Tree. With bravery, teamwork, and a surprise ambush by a large flock of crows, they save her friend and savor their triumph!
