“Our entire mindset these days is kinda fucked. C’mon people, figure out that we’ve got to take responsibility for our own actions. Stop this damn blame game bullshit so these fucking lawyers can get each other rich off of the citizenry’s stupidity. The other obvious problem to me is that we’re too damn lazy. I guess convenience has come at a big price.”
– an excerpt from the book
Author Reputation Press has published “Shatter Some Worlds: Reinventing, Realizing, Reintegrating” by Andrew S. Tirado. The content of this book, which was written in 2005, is something of a time capsule in the author’s recovery that represents certain difficulties, regulars, and challenges. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Andrew S. Tirado, the author, graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2009 with a degree concentration in Entrepreneurship. Some years later, in 2019, he became state certified as a recovery peer specialist with endorsements in adult and family. Tirado now works with many individuals across the spectrum, attempting to improve inputs and outputs for/of mental health care. He currently resides in Southwest Florida and is now a legitimate social entrepreneur with aspirations to turn his statewide certification into a national certification.
At the innocent age of ten, author Andrew Tirado is confronted with a life-altering, near-death experience after a bicycle accident leaves him with a collapsed lung and a traumatic brain injury. With remarkable fortitude and the support of his family, he slowly begins the road to recovery. He relearns how to walk, how to eat, and even how to talk.
He perseveres despite these setbacks and returns to school with a determination to lead a life that is as normal as possible. During his teen years, he has brushes with the law, experiments with drugs, and tries to understand the opposite sex. He graduates from high school and enrolls in a local community college. But he receives another drastic blow when he is faced with the sudden death of his fiancé. Tirado pens a touching, bittersweet memoir – “Shatter Some Worlds: Reinventing, Realizing, Reintegrating”.
Tirado’s portrayal of his life is honest and frank and reveals his indomitable courage in the midst of grief and suffering. He uses his adversity as an accelerant that drives his consciousness to rise to the occasion and accomplish great things.
