“Maggie, I Love You” by Ronald Higgins is preparing to hit the big screen by releasing its Movie Treatment
Author Ronald Higgins, a native of New York, currently resides in Hampton, Tennessee, where he devotes much of his time to writing and other pursuits. His desire to win the lottery inspired him to write this book, which later developed into the struggles the main character has with leading a lavish life. Ronald attended Massanutten Military Academy (MMA) High School and graduated with the class of 1959.
From their time in Vietnam, Brent and Alex became good friends. After winning the lottery, Brent starts a business doing private investigations. Due to his drinking habit, Alex struggles to maintain a work-life balance. He marries Maggie, his Vietnam-found love. Brent is informed by Alex over the phone that Maggie has been gone for two weeks. Brent begins gathering all the information required to locate Maggie.
Brent begins by reading a few of Maggie’s letters. He concludes that Maggie is a member of the Castellanos, an Italian Mafia family. He approaches the Castellano legal office after ruling out the prospect of Maggie eloping with a lover. After she gets her to leave, a secretary notifies him of Maggie’s strange temper. Despite Mama Castellano’s best efforts, Johnny refuses to abandon his mission. He follows a clue she provides him to San Francisco.
Although he finds it difficult to locate Mr. Chong, Maggie’s father, in San Francisco, he discovers that he is avoiding the Chinese Mafia. Mr. Chong will be in Alex’s place when Brent gets back to New York. The Chinese Mafia owns the uncut diamonds that Mr. Chong claims to be in possession of. He is attempting to steal from his fellow workers their fair share.
Alex and Mr. Chong are contacted by Mr. Simms, who makes a demand in exchange for Maggie. After Brent comes dangerously close to dying, his bodyguard follows the shooter to a home where Maggie appears happy. Alex denies that it’s possible, but Mr. Chong thinks it’s possible. When Brent arrives to deliver the diamonds, he finds out that Maggie was involved in her disappearance. The cops shoot and murder Jack (Mr. Simms), who then kills her. The diamond disperses into the ocean.
