Cheryl Elaine Dowdell, the wisdom-filled author of “Forgive Us Our King: Healing for Your Soul”, is interviewed by CBS Radio’s Benji Cole. They delve into the book’s message as well as the author’s purpose for writing it.

Forgiveness is what we need most as people. We seek it from both God and one another. And forgiving someone who has harmed you is one of the few ways to become more like Christ. Although it is a noble virtue, forgiving others is challenging to do. God has thankfully given us the ability to forgive.

You can be healed by people who have wronged you when you forgive them. The handcuffs are removed through forgiveness. The door is open. The secret to banishing retaliation, bitterness, and anger from your soul is forgiveness. By forgiving one another, you can achieve complete freedom and learn to love one another as Christ loved the church. God is eager to bestow on you unfathomable joy and unrestricted freedom.

Does Jesus condemn us for our sins? What does forgiveness look like in reality? Or perhaps even more crucially, how does Jesus demonstrate His forgiveness?

Cheryl Elaine Dowdell, the author, came from a family of 10 children raised by a single mother. She grew up the hard way, as her mother passed away when she was 10 years old. Her mother died after they attended church in 1971. And as the author looks back on her hard life, she sees God in all of it.

Cheryl Elaine Dowdell, came up with this title after completing the chapters she wanted to talk about. Looking at this world and the reality of it grieves her heart. Knowing the reality of her life and the majority of people in her territory, we need forgiveness for the sake of our children and their children.

It says in the Bible that God feels what we feel. He hurts when we hurt. Even for the souls that have gone on before us, if they did not ask God to forgive them for the things they have done on this earth, we ask for their forgiveness as well.

Forgiveness is very important for everyone if they want to be forgiven. If we do not forgive, we hold animosity in our hearts. Holding animosity in our hearts leads to heart disease and even heart failure. No one is worth your soul, so give it to Jesus Christ today. He will fight for you. Our job is to love one another in Jesus’ name. Amen.
