Tambi Harwood, a spectacular science fiction and fantasy author, talks about her book, “I Am Not The Moon Lake Camp Killer”

Tambi Harwood is a young adult science fiction novelist. She got an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University, where she also finished her first psionic time-travel book, “I Am Not the Moon Lake Camp Killer”. Her husband and two adolescent sons live in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attends ComicCon regularly and enjoys cosplaying as long as she can paint her entire body a different color.

She began writing when she was a young child. She became aware that she had lived a full life when she turned forty (40). Then she considers how she would lead another full life. This prompts decision-making. Reading is her favorite pastime, especially science fiction and fantasy.

Tambi Harwood, the author of “I Am Not The Moon Lake Camp Killer”, was interviewed by Benji Cole of CBS Radio to discuss the content and the inspiration of the book.

Her book is highly praised by Mark Heisey of the US Review of Books, who recognizes that “Harwood creates an interesting science fiction story centered around her teenage protagonists. Excusing a few grammatical errors, the writing is compact, and the pacing is quick and engaging.”

The book also receives a review by Jennifer Bailey of the Hollywood Book Review, who says that the book “Is a fun story to read as it addresses the theory of time paradox; what would happen if someone goes back in time to kill either themselves, or someone else? How drastic will the changes be and will it make the world better or worse? It’s fun and interesting to see how that idea is approached in this novel in a way that is not full of difficult jargon. Liam having powers, the real killer plus the time travel aspect, may seem like there is too much happening all at once, but Tambi Harwood makes it work in an engaging and thrilling tale.”

In the story “I Am Not the Moon Lake Camp Killer,” 17-year-old Liam and his companions find a meteor at Moon Lake Camp, and Liam mysteriously gains powers. Suddenly, Liam is wrongly charged with the deaths of twelve of his fellow campers. Now he must not only restore his reputation and aid in the safety of his friends but also aid in the hunt for the real murderer—an alien with shape-shifting and “quantic” ability-stealing skills. In addition, his future self comes back to kill him. How is Liam going to deal with everything wrong in his life?
